North Somerset Council responds to BAL request for a formal scoping opinion
North Somerset Council has responded to the Bristol Airport request for a formal Scoping Opinion to determine the scope of an Environmental Impact Assessment for a future application on the proposed expansion of the airport to accommodate 15 million passengers per annum and associated works. Town Hall Event with Sadiq Al-Hassan MP 13/02/2025
A town hall event was held by North Somerset MP Sadiq Al-Hassan in Winford on Thursday February 13th. This event was attended by representatives from Bristol Airport, Somerset Council and a large number of local residents concerned about the impact on the local area by airport activities. Bristol Airport Masterplan Consultation
BAL launched a consultation on its proposed Masterplan to expand its operations from 12mppa to 15mppa by 2040 at the end of 2024. This proposed expansion would increase the number of aircraft movements annually from 85,990 to 100,000, and increase the number of night flights by 1000. This consultation is now closed, however details of the proposals and the proposed Masterplan can still be accessed here: https://bristolairport-futureplans.co.uk/ The PCAA responded to this consultation, detailing its full objections to the proposed further increase in passenger numbers and subsequent impacts on the surrounding areas and Parishes. The PCAA have responded to planning application 23/P/2185/FU2, submitted by EPIC is relation to land SW Of Long Ashton Park And Ride Off Gurney Roundabout (A370) And Colliters Way Long Ashton.
