Draft Heathrow Expansion National Policy Statement
In June this year, the Government published its draft Heathrow Expansion National Policy Statement (HENPS) and opened a consultation, available here, which runs until 1st September 2026. The draft policy statement has been reviewed by the AEF, who held a webinar to present their analysis. The link to the webinar and associated slides can be found via the AEF website here.
PCAA Response to Planning Application 26/P/0686/OU2
The PCAA response to the Bristol Aiport planning application, 26/P/0686/OU2, has been completed and uploaded onto the consultation page of the North Somerset Planning portal. The PCAA response can be accessed here.

Planning application 26/P/0686/OU2, the Bristol Airport hybrid planning application (full and outline elements) with Environmental Statement for the expansion of Bristol Airport to enable a throughput of 15 million passengers per annum (mppa), is now live on the North Somerset Council planning portal until 28th June. This planning application aims to get Bristol Airport permission for 15 million passengers per annum, operating within a rolling 12 month cap of 99,931 air transport movements and 4,974 night flights between the hours of 23:30 and 06:00. The planning application and associated documentation can be found on the North Somerset Council planning portal HERE by searching for application number 26/P/0686/OU2. Parish and Town Council comments on this application should be submitted to BAconsultees@n-somerset.gov.uk by 28th June, rather than via the planning portal. A new 'Member Only Area' has been created for PCAA members to be able to access PCAA only information. This area can be accessed from the site menus, and requires a username and password that will be sent to all PCAA member representatives by the PCAA Secretary. Bristol Airport Expansion Public Meeting 9/6/26
A public meeting has been organised on Tuesday 9th June, 7.30-9pm, at Chew Valley School. Titled 'Bristol Airport Expansion - The pros and cons' the event enables discussion of Bristol Airport's expansion plans, and how people may meaningfully respond to the planning application, which must be completed by 28th June.
