Bristol Airport Lighting Consultation
Bristol Airport have launched a consulation on the relocation of existing, and installation of new lighting at the eastern end of the current runway. The proposal is to move the runway threshold and the runway aiming point (the point at which planes are expected to touch down) 240 metres to the east. The proposals involve the installation of additional rows of runway approach lighting, and fencing around that lighting, on Felton Common. Felton Common is currently owned and managed on behalf of the community by Winford Parish Council, therefore in order to carry out these proposed works, the land would need to be de-registered and an equivalent piece of replacement land provided. Full details of the proposals can be found on the Bristol Airport website via the following link: https://www.bristolairport.co.uk/lighting-consultation/ You can comment on the proposals via the following routes: Online: Complete the feedback form on the website lined above.
